Mama Killa, which means 'Mother Moon,' was an important god for the Incas. The moon was worshipped because of Her admirable beauty and the benefits she bestows upon the world. She was important for calculating the passage of time and the calendar. Due to the fact that many rituals were based upon the lunar calendar, and adjusted to match the solar year, she also oversaw marriage.

Mama Killa is a comfortable room with three large windows in Hanan Pacha (the second floor). The room includes a private bathroom, cable television, and comfortable seats in front of a window with a view over the garden and Cusco. Further more, it has a magical mural depicting the moon on a feature wall. This painting, the furniture, and the colours of the room create a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
